CAVU

Ceiling and Visibility Unlimited

Perspectives on people, culture, leadership, and the future of work. From the desk of Joel Ciniero, President of Kongusto.

CAVU is an aviation term pilots use to describe perfect flying conditions. Clear skies. Unlimited ceiling. Ten miles of visibility in every direction.

As a business leader, I think a lot about that term.

True clarity doesn’t come when flying too low in heavy cloud cover; it comes with altitude and visibility.

When you rise above the daily turbulence, you gain the CAVU perspective—unobstructed sight to see not just where you are, but where the flight plan is taking you.

This column is where I share what I see from up here: the shifting workforce trends executives miss, the cultural forces reshaping teams, and the hard truths about what it takes to make clear-headed decisions that last.

No fluff. No corporate speak. Just honest thinking from someone who has spent over two decades helping businesses in North America scale and grow—or watching them stall and fall from the sky—based on the choices made from the left-front seat of otherwise capable aircraft (or from the left-front seat of a plane).

Welcome to CAVU, a perspective that works.
